Warranty
What’s Covered
Your new home is covered under warranty for 1 year. After this 1 year warranty period the Homeowner assumes full responsibility for the home and releases the Entrada Homes from any further liability. Warranty must be signed by both buyer/homeowner and seller/builder to be valid.
Your appliances are covered directly by their manufacturers but must be registered by the homeowner with the manufacturer to receive this warranty.
General Construction is covered by the contractor. In some cases the contractor will require subcontractors to cover any defective work that they are responsible for. Ceilings and walls will develop minor cracks and doors may settle. This is normal and is covered under your warranty. Defects in Plumbing, Electrical and HVAC systems are also covered under this warranty. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to notify Entrada Homes regarding any potential warranty item immediately before additional damage is created.
To request a repair under warranty, please send an email titled “Warranty Request” to: office@entradahomes.com
Your request must include the following information: Address, Subdivision, Contact Phone Number, Pictures of the suspected defect and a description of the deject.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED
Concrete
Concrete is a man made product and will crack. Our concrete finishers have installed control joints to try to control the cracks as they occur, but sometimes concrete will crack outside of these joints. This is considered normal and is not a defect. Also, being in a cold weather area, freezing temperatures, salt and other chemicals used to control ice will cause concrete to pit and spall unless concrete is sealed and maintained properly. This is considered acceptable and not a defect. Concrete in freezing climates require extra attention and maintenance to prevent premature failure which is the homeowner’s responsibility.
Flooring
Flooring is a wear item and is not covered under any warranty.
Tile Grout
Tile grout is a maintenance item and will need to be touched up from time to time, especially corner tile grout in showers. This is the homeowner’s responsibility.
Items that are within the acceptable standard of construction are not considered defective-This means that items that have been accepted by other homeowners in the area are considered normal and are not defective. Some examples of this would be types of textures in concrete, textures on walls or ceilings, smoothness of flooring and manufactured products such as lights, hardware, sounds of appliances, quality of finishes etc.
Wear and Abuse are also not considered to be defects in the house. This includes but is not limited to broken windows, cracked, or chipped tile, broken sheetrock and or doors and anything that was damaged by animals or people.
